✈️ JATF Travel Authorization Request (TAR) Instructions

This page provides required instructions for submitting a Travel Authorization Request (TAR), receiving approval before travel, and submitting the required post-travel voucher documentation.

⚠️ Required Travel Actions, Not Optional

All travelers must complete the steps below. Travel must be approved before travel begins. A submitted request does not authorize travel until the required approval process is complete.

The priced TAR provided by the Government is the only TAR that will be accepted. Do not use self-generated, altered, recreated, beta, or unofficial TAR formats.

Failure to submit the correct priced TAR, supporting documentation, and post-travel voucher package may delay approval, reimbursement, or both.

1. 📄 Complete the Government-Provided Priced TAR

  1. Download the official JATF TAR form below.
  2. Complete all required traveler, itinerary, purpose, justification, and cost estimate fields.
  3. Ensure the TAR is priced before submission. Unpriced TARs will not be accepted.
  4. Attach supporting documentation, including quotes, rate screenshots, cost basis, and justification memos when applicable.

2. ✏️ Submit the Travel Authorization Request

  1. Upload the completed priced TAR using the travel request form below.
  2. Include all required supporting documentation.
  3. Do not begin travel until approval is complete.

Download and complete the priced TAR in step 1 (desktop Acrobat keeps the totals). Then submit here. No Java.

Open the submit form in a new tab if the form above does not load.

3. 📊 Check Travel Request Status

Use the status tracker below to confirm approval status and access signed TAR forms.

✅ Check Travel Status

Download the TAR you submitted (before AOR signature)

If you need to correct a TAR, download the file you originally submitted — not the AOR-signed copy. Edit it in desktop Acrobat, then resubmit in step 2.

4. 📁 Submit Travel Voucher and Post-Trip Documents

  1. After travel is complete, gather all receipts, boarding passes, travel vouchers, expense reports, and justification memos.
  2. When entering the trip price in the JATF Airtable Travel Voucher, enter the full total cost of the trip. This includes, but is not limited to, lodging, rental vehicle, transportation costs, airfare, mileage, parking, tolls, per diem, meals, incidentals, and any other authorized travel entitlements.
  3. The total entered in the JATF Airtable Travel Voucher must match the total shown in the parent organization’s expense report. These amounts must match before the reimbursement package can be validated.
  4. Submit the travel voucher and supporting documentation using the upload form below.
  5. Also follow your parent organization’s internal SOPs for voucher submission, reimbursement, and records retention.
Required: The JATF Airtable Travel Voucher total and the parent organization expense report total must match. Do not submit partial trip costs.

Open the voucher form in a new tab if the form above does not load.
